Ellis Fell 32% on Debut, Then Hit the Limit: No Filing Says Why
Hyein had a DART filing for a 46.4 billion won supply deal. Ellis, up the day after a debut plunge, and Hyungji Elite, which gave back most of an intraday limit-up, have no company filing.

Seoul — Data as of the Oct 21, 2026 close. The KOSPI rose 3.29% to 5,735.66 and the KOSDAQ (Korea's tech- and small-cap-heavy market) rose 1.38% to 792.76, a day after the KOSPI fell 3.73%. Two stocks closed at the 30% daily limit (상한가), Hyein and Ellis, and only Hyein's move is explained by a company filing. Hyein (003010): a filed AI data-center deal sent it to the limit

Hyein closed at 10,450 won, up 29.98%, on 23.4 billion won of trading. DART, Korea's official disclosure system, shows a 'single sales/supply contract' filing today (receipt no. 20261021800197). Edaily said the deal supplies about 46.3 billion won of emergency generators to an AI data center under construction in Pohang, while Ajunews and Wide Economy put it at 46.4 billion won. Edaily names NeoAI Cloud as the developer. The stock was already at the limit at 1:30 pm, so the close matches the midday figure.
The size matters. 46.4 billion won is about 35% of Hyein's 132.8 billion won market cap, and a Hankook Kyungje headline calls it about 20% of last year's sales. That is large for the company. But it is a one-off supply contract, and when revenue lands depends on the contract term in the filing. The filing says nothing about margins that we can see. Pinpoint News separately tied the day's strength to postwar-reconstruction hopes, but the headline alone does not show how that relates to this deal.
Hyein also rose 13.1% on Oct 16 and 12.1% on Oct 19, and is up 43.5% over five sessions. Foreign investors were net sellers from Oct 16 to 20, and individuals absorbed the shares. To judge whether it lasts, check the contract term and delivery schedule in the filing, and whether tomorrow's trading value holds near today's 23.4 billion won.
Hyungji Elite (093240): limit-up at one point, no filing, only delisting-reprieve hopes

Hyungji Elite closed at 2,140 won, up 11.23%, on 15.9 billion won of trading and a 26.3 billion won market cap. At 1:30 pm it stood at 2,500 won, up 29.94%, at the limit, then gave back most of the gain by the close. The stock closed at 296 won every session from Sept 22 through Oct 19, then rose 30% to 1,924 won yesterday. Over two days it is up 623% from 296 won.
The company has filed nothing. Money Today reported that buying on hopes of a delisting reprieve lifted three Hyungji group stocks for a second day. Hankook Kyungje separately said stocks facing delisting have been swinging wildly after authorities put the brakes on a market-cap-based delisting policy, and warned about short-term trading. Nothing we can see points to an earnings change. Who was buying is unclear; only individuals' net purchase of 111,534 shares yesterday shows up.
To judge what comes next, watch whether the company answers with an inquiry response or other filing, and whether trading value stays near today's 15.9 billion won after the slide from the limit.
Ellis (0158S0): up 29.92% a day after a 32% debut drop, with no stated reason

Ellis closed at 79,900 won, up 29.92%, with 119.1 billion won of trading, the most of the three. It is on its second trading day, so there is little price history to compare. It closed at 61,600 won on day one, down 31.93%. Hankook Kyungje and Yonhap News TV described it as a 32% drop followed by a limit-up the next day, and Digital Daily said the price is still below the IPO price. The stock was already at the limit at 1:30 pm, so the close matches the midday figure.
No company filing explains the rise, and the coverage reports the rebound without a specific trigger. Financial News headlined it with a question about an IPO rebound trend. Kyunghyang Shinmun tied the plunge to 'AI bubble' worries. On day one, institutions net sold 518,797 shares and foreigners net sold 118,397, while individuals net bought 672,422.
To tell whether this is more than a bounce, check whether institutions turn to net buying, when the lock-up on institutional holdings ends and how many shares are freely traded, and how far tomorrow's trading value falls from today's 119.1 billion won.
